The History of CAPA of Diamond Bar High School
01/04/2006 by Simon Lin- In one night of May 1997, a bilingual invitation letter from school brought nearly 100 Chinese parents gathered at DBHS library where CAPA was officially born. During the meeting, parents made the election for 3 major positions among voluntary candidates another volunteers for different Committee also elected during the later meetings. Below is the officers list for the year of 1997-1998:
- President: David Hsu
- Vice Presidents: Michelle Teng, Nina To
- Treasurer: Jennifer Lee
- Secretaries: Rita Lin, Grace Liang, Lin-Hai Sun
- Administrative Committee: Simon Lin
- Coordination Committee: Frank Chu
- Membership Committee: Harrison Chang
- Fund Raising Committee: Teresa Chin
- Nomination Committee: Fred Yein
- CAPA set up a booth at the school site during summer registration time, for not only to assist parents & children but also recruited new members and their donations. CAPA has 250 members when the fall semester begins in 1997.
